EtherNet/IP – CIP Safety communication protocol for P-connect
The P-Connect connection gateway can now connect with a new communication protocol: Ethernet/IPTM with CIP SafetyTM. This new version is also equipped with dedicated field diagnostics.
> EtherNet/IPTM communication and CIP SafetyTM functionality
This important update enables the P-Connect connection gateway to convert signals exchanged with safety devices using protocols compatible with the EtherNet/IPTM network, enabling their integration into industrial networks.
Additionally, CIP SafetyTM functionality ensures that the device maintains the integrity of safety data transmitted between the various connected devices and the control system.
> Dedicated on-site diagnostics for the version with EtherNet/IPTM
The number of LEDs on the P-Connect connection device, for the version compatible with EtherNet/IPTM – CIP SafetyTM protocols, has been increased from 3 to 5.
Specifically, in addition to the three signalling LEDs already present indicating System Status, Network Status and Module Status, two L/A - Link Activity LEDs have been added for the two Ethernet ports on the device, signalling status and connection speed.
> Code modifications for available configurations
Following the introduction of the new EtherNet/IPTM communication protocol, the three previously presented P-Connect configurations have different codes, as they can now be ordered in a version with PROFINET/PROFIsafe protocol or a version with EtherNet/IPTM / CIP SafetyTM protocol.
