PVL Locks – Tamper-proofing for pneumatic shut-off valves during lockout/tagout procedures

Schärer+Kunz advises and supplies companies that have their own production facilities or provide services to production plants. During maintenance and repair work, our customers use lockout/tagout procedures to disconnect systems and machines from the power supply. Energy sources are locked (lockout) and marked (tagout) to prevent unintentional activation. Manufacturers offer various custom-fit or universal locking devices for electrical energy sources (circuit breakers, toggle switches, emergency stop switches, NH fuses, screw-in fuses) and mechanical energy sources (handwheels, ball valves, throttle valves, cone valves, gas cylinders). Until now, there has been no suitable locking device for pneumatic shut-off valves. This poses a problem for manufacturing companies that use compressed air when developing a lockout/tagout (LoTo) concept. With the PVL locking devices, Schärer+Kunz now offers a simple, efficient and precisely fitting solution for locking shut-off valves of the HE series and identical designs – developed for the common sizes 6, 8, 10 and 12 mm.
