The MSA series raceways are designed with a contact angle of 45\u00b0. This means that loads can be picked up evenly from all directions. The preload is also distributed evenly, resulting in constant stiffness in all 4 main load directions. The X-preload of the linear guide completes the design, which reduces the moment stiffness of the individual carriage, but plays a minor role when viewed in the system.<\/p>\n
The resulting advantage is that carriages with X preload have significantly better self-alignment. Assembly inaccuracies can therefore be better compensated for and higher tolerances can be permitted for the surrounding components.<\/p>\n
