{"id":93223,"date":"2025-04-04T16:21:51","date_gmt":"2025-04-04T14:21:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hamburg.empack-messen.de\/news\/anschluss-gateway-p-connect-fuer-sicherheits-vorrichtungen\/"},"modified":"2025-05-28T12:55:28","modified_gmt":"2025-05-28T10:55:28","slug":"ethernet-ip-cip-safety-communication-protocol-for-p-connect","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.hamburg.empack-messen.de\/en\/news\/ethernet-ip-cip-safety-communication-protocol-for-p-connect\/","title":{"rendered":"EtherNet\/IP \u2013 CIP Safety communication protocol for P-connect"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>> EtherNet\/IPTM communication and CIP SafetyTM functionality<\/p>\n<p>This important update enables the P-Connect connection gateway to convert signals exchanged with safety devices using protocols compatible with the EtherNet\/IPTM network, enabling their integration into industrial networks.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, CIP SafetyTM functionality ensures that the device maintains the integrity of safety data transmitted between the various connected devices and the control system.<\/p>\n<p>> Dedicated on-site diagnostics for the version with EtherNet\/IPTM<\/p>\n<p>The number of LEDs on the P-Connect connection device, for the version compatible with EtherNet\/IPTM \u2013 CIP SafetyTM protocols, has been increased from 3 to 5.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, in addition to the three signalling LEDs already present indicating System Status, Network Status and Module Status, two L\/A &#8211; Link Activity LEDs have been added for the two Ethernet ports on the device, signalling status and connection speed.<\/p>\n<p>> Code modifications for available configurations<\/p>\n<p>Following the introduction of the new EtherNet\/IPTM communication protocol, the three previously presented P-Connect configurations have different codes, as they can now be ordered in a version with PROFINET\/PROFIsafe protocol or a version with EtherNet\/IPTM \/ CIP SafetyTM protocol.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The P-Connect connection gateway can now connect with a new communication protocol: Ethernet\/IPTM with CIP SafetyTM.
