A design has been established for main switches in which the three poles of a three-phase alternating current supply are switched simultaneously within a particularly compact construction. There are also four-pole versions for applications in which the neutral conductor is also switched, whereby the neutral conductor contact opens and closes with a time delay. Main switches are load-break switches and have a high switching capacity in relation to their size. The compact main switches from Kraus &#038; Naimer have force and positive opening guidance of the switching contacts both when opening and closing and are embedded in a comprehensive modular system with numerous functional extensions and additional devices.<\/p>\n<p>Function<br \/>\nKraus &#038; Naimer main switches are mains isolating devices that disconnect machines\/systems from the supply or mains supply.
